Top Female Restauranteurs in London | Just Eat for Business

Written by Just Eat for Business | Feb 18, 2019 3:37:35 PM

The restaurant world might have traditionally been a male-dominated industry, but there are more and more women shaking up London’s food scene every single day.

So in the spirit of International Women's Day 2019, we're rounding up some of the best London food enterprises owned and run by women. And as a bonus, you can bring all these restaurants into your office when you order with Just Eat for Business.

Karma Cans

Founded in a basement kitchen with £5, one customer and one idea, sisters Gini and Eccie Newton have grown Karma Cans into a catering service which feeds 600 people every single day in London.

Serving healthy, sustainable breakfasts and lunches to offices all over the city, Karma Cans is all about getting people around the table with food. And when the food is this seasonal and delicious, it's not too difficult to get a whole office of people sitting down and tucking in. But don't just take our word for it. Take a look at theirJust Eat for Business menu to see what Karma Cans are all about.

Meringue Girls

Alex Hoffler and Stacey O'Gorman met while working in a kitchen in 2012 and quickly bonded over a love of all things sweet. And that's where Meringue Girls was born.

After perfecting their meringue kisses recipe - crispy on the outside and deliciously mallowy in the middle - the duo began introducing their creations via London's booming street food scene and became an Instagram sensation. Just six years on, the Meringue Girls have their own bakery in the bustling foodie hub of Broadway Market, have made numerous TV appearances and are considered by some to be two of the most successful independent bakers in the capital.

Luminary Bakery

It's safe to say that Luminary Bakery is more than just a bakery.

Founded by Alice Boyle (far right), Luminary Bakery serves some of the tastiest brownies in London. But it's also a social enterprise, employing disadvantaged women while helping them build a future for themselves and reach their potential. Providing a safe and professional environment, the women at Luminary Bakery use baking as a tool for employability and entrepreneurship, equipping them with transferrable skills for the working world. So if any business deserves your support this International Women's Day, it should be Luminary Bakery.

Kute Cake

Founded in East London back in 2015, Iram Chaudhry uses her PHD in Microbiology to explore the science in baking and create some of London's best cupcakes at Kute Cake.

From the pastel, inviting colours to the playful finishes on every cupcake, Chaudhry says that everything that leaves the Kute Cake kitchen is inspired by her daughter. And with a refreshing and stylish approach to sweet treats in the capital - including handcrafted recipes and elegant packaging - Kute Cake really know how to do cupcakes. And Just Eat for Business really know how to deliver them to your office.

Cupcakes & Shhht

Shhht got real nearly five years ago for cupcake entrepreneurs, Caitlyn Badham-Thornhill and Sophie Beale, when they quit their day jobs to start their own bakery.

And since pitching up in Camden Market without so much as a tablecloth, Cupcakes & Shhht has grown into a mini empire. Serving a selection of vegan and no-gluten cupcakes, cakes, brownies, fudge and cookies, there's nothing sickly-sweet about the treats at Cupcakes & Shhht. Sourcing only the finest ingredients, all their products are as natural as possible. That means no artificial colours or flavours, but lots of deliciousness.
