Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: Tips on Supporting Employees | Just Eat for Business

The theme for this year's Mental Health Awareness Week is "Community". Find out how you can support your teams in this blog post.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, the theme of Community highlights the importance of connection and support in fostering wellbeing. While many organisations have strong mental health policies in place, there's always more that can be done—especially when it comes to recognising that mental health support isn't one-size-fits-all. Every employee brings their own experiences and needs, which is why it's essential to create a workplace culture that prioritizes inclusion, connection, and care.

Building a sense of community at work means more than just having policies—it’s about people. That includes regular one-on-one check-ins, social time that brings teams together beyond daily tasks, and opportunities for genuine collaboration.

We all play key role in nurturing a mentally healthy community by modeling open conversations about mental health, encouraging balance, and creating space for connection and understanding across the organization.

Another tip for businesses looking to support employees' mental wellbeing is by having a wide range of  offerings available. This could be in the form of taking a mental health day, enjoying company benefits like health insurance or a subsidised gym membership, or accessing mental health training and resources to help them manage their day-to-day.

Creating a mentally healthy workplace begins with building a strong sense of community. When employees feel connected, supported, and seen, their wellbeing naturally improves. Mental health support shouldn't exist in isolation—it should be woven into the everyday culture of teams. This means encouraging open dialogue, making time for meaningful interactions, and fostering environments where colleagues look out for one another. Managers play a crucial role by leading with empathy, normalizing conversations about mental health, and promoting practices that bring people together in support, not just in work.

At Just Eat for Business, there are several things we offer to all our employees, whether they're in the office or working from home. Whether it's offering subsidised lunches in the office, or access to treats while working from home with Just Eat Pay, to the opportunity to work flexibly, we provide initiatives that keep morale high and focus on building community. We invest in a range of perks - ones that benefit people individually as well as social activities that help bring teams together.

If you're looking for ways to bring your team together throughout the week (and beyond!), why not arrange for an in-office pop-up? Encouraging social time together away from desks while enjoying some delicious, healthy food and drink can help provide a much-needed break for your team. We've picked out our favourites below.
